Homeschooling can be considered a lot of responsibility. To be successful and have a healthy environment, you need to know your why. Your why is the foundation that you build homeschooling around. When things become challenging, your why should be solid and remind you to have faith and continue your decisions.
Healthy Homeschooling families have a support system. The support can be intermediate and distant family members, close friends, other homeschool families, religious affiliations, physicians, therapists, coaches, neighbors, etc. Everyone's inner circle is different, but it is necessary to stay healthy. Healthy Homeschoolers do not isolate themselves.
Choosing to homeschool is a non-traditional school method. Don’t get stuck in various homeschool options, curriculums, school hours, etc. The best way to encourage learning is through fun. Make the experiences memorable and focused on the Children's needs.
Melody Brown is the coach for “Busy Moms on the Fly.” She is dedicated to helping mothers who need direction. They’re tired and need wisdom and strategies to solve their most frustrating problems. Her favorite role is being called mom. She is currently raising a son as a single parent. Since 2019 Melody has homeschooled her son. At that time she had no community that was familiar with nontraditional school options. It was a scary transition for her. Mostly through trial and error, she found harmony in homeschooling and other responsibilities. Along with her experiences of motherhood, she has a professional background in child and adult learning. She is a visionary who thrives on interactive curricula, courses, books, and coaching women.
